Pest Scout
Healthy Hills Horticulture provides agronomy services to horticultural producers’ (primarily Macadamia nut producers’). Our clients are situated from Bundaberg, Qld to Eungai, NSW, with the majority of our clients in the Northern Rivers and Nambucca regions of NSW. Our clients range from hobby farms to family farms to large corporate farms. We pride ourselves on providing quality independent advice. Witnessing orchards become more productive, environmentally friendly and visually attractive is a rewarding experience of working with Healthy Hills Horticulture. The workplace is in the beautiful rolling hills and coastline of the Nambucca region of NSW. Healthy Hills Horticulture will support you through training as required.
Qualifications & experience
- Pest scouting experience preferred
- Interest in production horticulture
- Horticultural, agricultural or science studies would be an advantage
- Driver’s licence essential
- Willing to work in the elements – not rain
- Fit and healthy applicants only – a lot of walking in various terrain required.
Tasks & responsibilities
- On-farm inspections of macadamia nut orchards
- In-field data collection
- Identifying and quantifying pest species and beneficial species
- Communicating with supervisor and head agronomist
- All outdoor work
- Small to large orchards to be inspected throughout the Nambucca region.
