Horticulture Grower
Nagra Family Trust are large scale blueberry and raspberry growers with farms in Coffs Harbour and Bonville. They are seeking persons with the skills and experience to join their team. Nagra Family Trust are seeking persons with a willingness and commitment to working in the positions long term. Salary is in the range of $80,000-$85,000 per annum.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the position is to plan, organise, coordinate and undertake farming operations for blueberry and raspberry crops with consideration to environmental & market factors.
Example of duties include:
- Development of land and structures prior to planning
- Select and plant blueberry seedlings and raspberry bulbs
- Maintain optimal growing conditions
- Monitor and implement fertilisation and irrigation requirement
- Organise and undertake pest and weed control
- Organise harvest activities maintain farm buildings and infrastructure such as netting water supply systems crop trellis and harvest access lanes
- Train and supervise workers and contractors
- Undertake relevant health and safety standards and processes etc
Skills Required
Minimum skills required:
- Relevant AQF Certificate III or equivalent and at least 3 years relevant employment experience; OR
- Minimum of 5 years employment experience if no formal training.
