Garden Maintenance Team Leader

We are currently seeking an experienced Garden Maintenance Team Leader to manage a portfolio of established residential gardens.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced horticulturist who can do more than maintain a garden — we are looking for someone who can take ownership of their gardens, plan ahead, identify improvements and ensure each garden continues to develop and look its best throughout the year.

You will be responsible for regularly maintaining and managing a portfolio of clients, supported by our wider gardening team. A fully equipped company van, tools and uniforms are provided during working hours.

An immediate start is available to allow time for training and familiarisation with our clients and gardens.

The Role

As a Team Leader, you will be expected to:

  • Take ownership of a portfolio of regular residential gardens
  • Plan and prioritise work across each garden
  • Identify plants that are declining, unsuccessful or require replacement
  • Recommend appropriate replacement plants and garden improvements
  • Anticipate seasonal horticultural requirements
  • Maintain high standards of pruning, hedging, lawn care and general garden presentation
  • Identify work that needs to be undertaken without relying on continual direction
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with clients
  • Lead and support other gardeners working alongside you
  • Ensure our gardens consistently meet the standard expected of a premium garden maintenance service

We are particularly looking for someone with strong practical horticultural knowledge and the ability to look at a garden as a whole, rather than simply completing the maintenance tasks scheduled for that day.

Requirements for the Role

  • Certificate III in Horticulture or higher qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional garden maintenance experience
  • Strong plant and horticultural knowledge
  • Previous experience leading or supervising others
  • Excellent organisational and forward-planning skills
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for your gardens
  • Current driver’s licence
  • Australian working rights

Visa holders are welcome to apply but must currently be living in Australia and hold appropriate working rights.

Are You?

  • Passionate about horticulture and beautiful gardens?
  • Someone who notices what a garden needs before being asked?
  • Organised and able to plan ahead?
  • Confident leading and supporting other gardeners?
  • A strong communicator who enjoys dealing with clients?
  • Motivated, reliable and positive?
  • Looking for a company where you can develop your horticultural career?

Then we’d love to hear from you.

What We Offer

  • Full-time permanent position
  • Regular working hours of 6:30am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday
  • No weekend work
  • Fully equipped company van during working hours
  • Tools and uniforms provided
  • Ongoing training and support
  • Training in our iPad-based scheduling and invoicing system
  • Established portfolio of regular clients and gardens
  • Immediate start available

We are passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful gardens for our clients and take pride in providing a premium garden maintenance service.
