Estate/Farm Supervisor
We are a South Australian agricultural business developing a large-scale commercial lavender enterprise in the beautiful Barossa Valley, South Australia.
We are now seeking an experienced, hands-on Estate/Farm Supervisor to join us during this exciting establishment phase.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys building something from the ground up and wants to play a key role in the long-term success of a growing agricultural business.
About the Role
This is a practical, operational supervisor role.
You will work closely with the directors and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the lavender estate, including:
- Supervising farm operations
- Irrigation management and fertigation scheduling
- Crop establishment and plant health monitoring
- Pest, weed and disease management
- Machinery operation and maintenance
- Harvest planning and coordination
- Managing seasonal staff and contractors
- Maintaining farm records and reporting
- Assisting with continuous improvement of farm systems and procedures
This is not an office-based management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors and leading by example.
An immediate start is available for the successful candidate.
About You
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience managing a commercial lavender farm or lavender production operation;
- Practical experience in irrigation, crop management and machinery operation;
- Strong people management and communication skills;
- The ability to work independently and solve problems proactively;
- A genuine passion for horticulture and agriculture.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience with commercial lavender production.
- Experience in essential oil crops or other perennial horticultural crops.
While commercial lavender experience is preferred, we also welcome applications from experienced horticultural supervisors who are genuinely interested in developing expertise in commercial lavender production.
