  • Build and maintain relationships with councils, contractors, businesses and private landholders to secure browse sources.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to staff, volunteers and students.
  • Work closely with the Horticulture Team Leader to deliver arboriculture projects and operational priorities.
  • Help maintain safe, engaging and beautifully presented grounds for our visitors, staff and wildlife.

About You

  • Experience in undertaking tree assessments and tree auditing programs.
  • Experience coordinating arboriculture projects or leading day-to-day operational activities.
  • Chainsaw competency and experience operating arboricultural equipment safely.
  • Strong knowledge of tree species identification and arboricultural practices.
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Why Join Zoos SA?

At Zoos SA, you’ll have the opportunity to apply your arboricultural expertise in a truly unique environment. From coordinating significant tree assets and supporting conservation outcomes to ensuring a reliable supply of browse for our animal collection, no two days are the same.
