Ellerston is a rural property of over 40,000 hectares located approximately 70km east of Scone in the Upper Hunter Valley. The property is home to world-class polo and golf facilities, livestock operations, premium accommodation, and a diverse range of estate activities.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our Golf Course team.
Working alongside experienced turf professionals, you will develop practical skills and industry knowledge in sports turf management while completing a Certificate III in Sports Turf Management. This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in the golf and turf industry.
About the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding course areas
- Learning and applying irrigation, fertilisation, and turf management practices
- Operating machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with daily golf course presentation and course set-up
- Supporting maintenance programs and improvement projects
- Following WHS procedures and safe work practices
- Contributing to a positive and professional team environment
About You
You will ideally:
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Enjoy working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Be reliable, motivated, and able to work as part of a team
- Have good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Have an interest in sports turf, horticulture, golf, or land management
- Hold a current driver’s licence or be willing to obtain one
